Over million books are purchased in the United States each year. According to Nielson, a global information, data, and measurement company, 47% of the American population purchases books.

If you do the math, million people bought these books. This means, on average, these book buyers purchase five to six books a year. Why do people buy.

But when you know a book will be a keeper, or at least one conducive to a whole lot of margin-writing, we suggest buying the half-priced, beat-up version. Of course, there are exceptions: Used versions of Stephen King's sequel to "The Shining," or the final installment of Margaret Atwood's "MaddAddam" trilogy won't exactly be floating around in.

Best of all, you’ll get paid the day after we receive them. Books are one of the most important inventions in human history, spreading important ideas, timeless stories and endless entertainment across the globe. Where do book sales come from. Most book sales are made by book buyers who search Amazon, or other online ebook and book retailers for their next read.

The key to improving your book and Kindle sales is to make your book not only easier to find but also more tempting to buy. So let’s get started on how to increase book sales on Amazon. The best method to look for books to sell is to target specific niches. Why do people buy? Amazon: If you're okay with receiving gift cards instead of cash for your books, Amazon has an excellent book buyback advertises that it pays up to 80 percent of the value of a book, and that could prove to be significantly more than what book re-sellers are currently paying.

Unfortunately, the publishing industry and the book market do not work on how you feel or think. Book pricing is extremely sensitive, and if a book is outside the ‘buying range’ it has little hope of selling.

Before deciding on the cover price, look at books that are in your genre. Then price your book according to the market, and not your ego. That’s right. If that option is checked, you’ve given permission for independent and used bookstores to buy your books at wholesale prices.

Be the first. Much as writing books is a passion and business for authors, selling books is a passion and the only business for independent booksellers. And while independent bookstores are known for being wonderful community gathering places with staff that genuinely care about the book industry, that doesn’t mean they can do it all for the love.

I think the people who list books at these high prices do not actually have the item in stock. They probably list every single book as part of their inventory at a high price and if by chance they sell (if you list a million items, something will probably sell eventually) they but it from another seller or website and have it shipped to the customer.
